Amy is passionate about steering funding to local non-profits who are working to provide support to Southeast Michigan communities. In 2013, she and two friends founded 100 Women Who Care, Greater Rochester Area. As of February 2015, this group of 160+ members has steered over $130,000 to six worthy charities.
In Fall of 2016, Amy founded 100 Businesses Who Care with Purple Squirrel Advisors Co-Founder, Carrie Schochet and 6 other business executives. The organization was created to bring together 100 business executives bi-annually for a “Shark Tank” style networking and voting meeting. At the end of the meeting, one Southeast Michigan non-profit will walk away with a $500 donation from each of the 100 business members, resulting in a combined $50,000 donation.
A part from founding the two philanthropic groups, Whipple has spearheaded a volunteer-driven fundraising effort over the years, which raised over $1.6M to support ALS research. Amy continues to support many local and national organizations including: P.E.O., ALS Therapy Development Institute, Hands of Hope, and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
